These are some of the drawings I have personally done. Most of them were for my boyfriend Daniel.
This drawing of a butterfly was actually drawn for my friend Ben. I drew this because he asked me to draw him a picture, and that day I kinda just felt like drawing a butterfly.

This butterfly I drew for me personally. The reason I drew this one, was because I had seen someone else with a similar butterfly, and really liked how the music was incorporated into it.

This drawing was for Daniel. It is (most likely) his name in Chinese. I'm not 100% positive.

This drawing is one of my personal ones. I saw it on a website called dragoart and just had to try it myself. It is currently unfinished, but it has come a long way.

This is another drawing for my boyfriend Daniel. I just looked up cool sketched in google, something like this came up, and I recreated it. (Btw, if any of you are wondering, I do not trace any of my drawings. I do usually look at references, but never trace).

This zombie guy was also for Daniel. I drew this because Daniel is really into end of the world scenarios.

Surprise surprise, this wolf is also drawn for Daniel.  The reason I drew this is because wolfs are one Daniel's favorite animals.

Holiday artwork

The winter season comes with many changes. One of these changes include people's inspiration for their artwork. People begin to make the shift from drawing dragons and flowers, and begin to draw Christmas icons (such as Santa and elves), snow animals (such as polar bears, wolves, and penguins wearing hats), and landscapes (covered in snow and ice).
Christmas icons are generally drawn in a cartoon style, or realistically. Most people choose to draw snowmen, Santa, elves, and reindeer. These are typically used to decorate Christmas cards. Below I have some examples:

The animals usually associated with the winter season sport Christmas hats and other clothing, and are usually in the cartoon style. Another take on the kind of animal, would be a realistic one, and these can be incredible. Below I have an example for each: http://hative.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/pencil-drawing-of-winter-bird.jpg

The landscapes people usually choose to draw are very snowy, and covered in ice. People tend to either draw a wilderness scene, or a house decorated in lights. These drawings are almost always drawn realistically. Below are some examples:

Welcome to Tricia's Blog.

Hi everyone. I'm Tricia and I will be writing about art. I have been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil and I have gotten progressively better throughout the years. I've taken one art class so far and plan to take more when my schedule allows me to. My inspiration to draw is usually when I am making a piece for a friend.
I see art as many things. It is a way to express yourself and to relieve stress. It is also a way to add beauty into the world. With all of the different genres in art, there is at least one that will peak anybody's interest. The genres include, but are not limited to, cartoon, anime, realistic, black and white, dada, cityscape, fantasy, etc. and is done in all kinds of mediums.
The medium I prefer is pencil, and the majority of my drawings are black and white. When I do apply color, I usually use colored pencils. I don't really have a specific style, I do cartoon, realism, fantasy, tribal, etc.
